Activities that respond to the development needs of local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries. CIDA's PSD will partner with local private sector organizations to fund the establishment and operation of Local Enterprise Investment Centres (LEICs). Through capacity building, improved productivity, and facilitating SME access to financial credit, these LEICs will help SMEs innovate, grow, and create jobs.

PSD funds trade facilitation activities designed to help trade promotion organizations and SMEs in developing countries access new markets. SMEs will be provided with training and technical assistance in export marketing and management (how to identify potential markets and how to export), matching services and supply-chain information, technology implementation, and inbound trade missions
