The EITG Program, currently in it's fourth phase, is an ACOA-subsidized initiative designed to provide new and existing exporters with quality trade advisory services, while offering work opportunities for recent university and college graduates. The program offers 12-month internships and subsidizes interns’ at 75 per cent, up to a maximum of $25,000 for one year.
CME coordinated with ACOA in 2006–07 to bring 20 women entrepreneurs from across Atlantic Canada to the point of export readiness by providing training, mentoring, business diagnostics, and guidance, which lead to their participation in a trade mission to Boston. Mission aftercare was also an important element of the program.
This year, the program will recruit women entrepreneurs in the food industry from throughout Atlantic Canada and will provide the necessary mentoring and training to help prepare them for export readiness. Participants will travel to Philadelphia and New York City to receive more training, meet with potential buyers and attend a large food industry trade show.
Web-based tool that will link Alberta’s suppliers to the oil sands with other companies across the country. For sellers, there is a subscription fee to list their products and services. Buyers will register and list their opportunities free of charge.
Atlantic Canadian businesses are now able to showcase their products in Vancouver’s Canada Export Centre, an exhibition hall for exporters, to the Asian and other new and emerging markets. The company cost to participate is greatly reduced, thanks to support from IBDA and CME.
